Rose Cushing grew up in New Bern, NC and currently resides in Middlesex, NC. A love for Horses began with a pony as a child. Riding and loving horses led to a career in the horse industry. In 2011 she published Carolina Hoofbeats, NC's first monthly publication devoted to NC Horses , horsemen and women.

In 2012 Rose pioneered the first weekly television series about the NC horse industry, Carolina Hoofbeats TV. The series aired on CW22 out of Raleigh as well as 9 other NC networks reaching 4 million viewers!

In 2015 Rose expanded the magazine by purchasing Southeast Equine magazine and combining publications into Southeast Hoofbeats covering 7 southern states. Currently the publication has grown to cover the entire Southeast region.
In 2016 looking for new ways to grow and strengthen the industry Rose produced a new type of "horse show" showcasing talented equestrian performers, Horses Got Talent. "I wanted something to make spectators fall in love with horses," Cushing said. This show features equestrian vaulting, drill teams, liberty, free style and entertainment performances and is held in early December entertaining hundreds of spectators.

In 2017 Cushing added Everything Equine Expo, the largest equestrian expo in the Southeast!

Cushing's TV show, Carolina Hoofbeats TV grew to streaming nationwide and in 42 countries! Cushing Media began producing additional equestrian shows. One of those shows, From the Ground Up hosted by Jerry King won an Equus International Film Festival award for Best Series Western!

In 2018 Hurricane Florence devastated our state. Cushing was deeply involved in hurricane relief. Through this experience she realized people didn't "feel the severity of this disasters effects on our equine community." Cushing Media filmed a documentary, A Flood of Emotion which won her 2nd Equus Film Festival award! Cushing Media Foundation was born as a charitable arm of her companies to work on education, resources, and planning for disasters as well as growth of our equine industry. From the Ground Up also won their 2nd Equus award under her direction!

Cushing has served on the Executive Board of
