Writers Retreat, November 18th 2017

Franklin County Arts Council Writers Guild is happy to announce their Writer’s Retreat has been rescheduled for Saturday, November 18 from 9am until 5 pm at Rolling View Community Building, Falls Lake State Park. The retreat, originally planned for a spring event had to be canceled because of flooding at the park. The new date allows participants to enjoy a day to write on the shore of the lake enhanced with fall foliage. Guild members suggest writers bring their cameras in addition to their pen and notepads.

The retreat also offers two writers workshops and a chance to network with other writers. New York Times best-selling author Diane Chamberlain will open the event with her workshop titled "How a Social Worker became a New York Times Best Selling Novelist in Only Thirty Years."

Deana Vassar, who is an Amherst Writers and Artists Facilitator and award-winning writer, will close the day with her presentation, “The Amherst Method, Creating a Safe Environment for the Writer.”
